Bill Gates Joins LinkedIn

This morning I checked my LinkedIn profile and two things that were unexpected:

1. A new "home" page

We like the new look and feel of the home page. It's easier to navigate and maximizes screen space.


2. A question from Bill Gates.

Bill Gates asks: How can we do more to encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology?

Now that kind of question is right up our alley, Bill! We will be watching the Answers section on the site to see where people think our education system can step up.

Note: Clearly Microsoft's $240 million investment in Facebook didn't deter Bill from exploring LinkedIn.

As everyone here knows, we admire LinkedIn because it changed the game for networking. No longer were rolodex needed. You have access to your network online. It was a true innovation in the space. At last count, LinkedIn is at 19 million members and has seen significant user growth over the last six months. By our estimation, LinkedIn would likely fetch a hefty $500-$600 million in an acquisition.

Great job with the new GUI. I'm sure it will keep people refreshed on the site and generate more buzz.
